Hormone wisdom in a nutshell

Homeopathy, London, hormones, periods, health, natural alternative, pill detox, acne, PMS
It was my first ever Hormone Wisdom workshop this week, and it was a lot of fun.

From 10 years in homeopathy practice, I know there are a surprising number of ways that hormonal imbalance can show up for your average woman.

Painful periods is one.

Heavy periods is another.

Early menopause is something else.

That’s before you even get into the bigger issues of PCOS and fertility, and I can’t remember the last time I met a woman who didn’t have some form of PMS.

Toxins + stress = hormone imbalance

With this type of issue, at first take, it could seem as though your reproductive hormones have a life of their own and are totally to blame for all these problems.

Yes, but also no.

There isn’t one answer, and the answer is different for everyone but often stress and toxicity are two of the main triggers.

  • Growth hormone residue from animal produce
  • Pesticide residue from fresh produce
  • Xeno-oestrogens from skin-care products
  • The pill and HRT
  • Antibiotics

  • Blue light from screens disrupts sleep
  • Non-stop notifications trigger stress
  • Fight or flight mode starts as soon as you wake up if your phone is your alarm clock
  • FOMO (fear of missing out) brings a tendency to  over-commit and you miss out on down time
  • Responding to everyone else means you have no time to reflect on your own priorities

If you’re feeling out of control, perhaps it’s time to make some changes.

Natural hormone help

Herbs, homeopathy and superfoods are gentle but powerful tools to help you detox and rebalance your hormones, starting with your nervous system.

  • Calming herbs restore sleep and help you find more space in your life..
  • Homeopathy clears toxic residue on a physical, mental and emotional level.
  • Rhodiola and Ashwaganda are adaptogens that help you respond to stress with more ease.

Magnificent magnesium

Magnesium is a mineral that your hormones depend on. Stress eats it up as soon as it comes in.

Guess which food you’ll find it in?

No surprises, most of us get our magnesium fix from chocolate.

Raw cacao is a great way to get more magnesium, minus the dairy and the sugar.

ready, steady, relax!

Put away all your screens from 9pm and buy an alarm clock so you can sleep with your phone in another room.

I also recommend making time in your schedule for simple things to calm and relax.

  1. Yoga
  2. Meditation
  3. Massage

Are my top three.

Write it down

Get your to-do list back in control by setting priorities. Using a journal has changed my life in the last six months, and a daily gratitude practice is one reason for that.

Journalling generally helps me process my thoughts without feeling like I’m ‘off-loading’ on other people. It can help you feel more resilient and makes decision-making easier too.

Not sure where to start? Just ask!

That’s all my hormone wisdom in a nutshell.

If you’ve got something going on that feels like a hormonal problem and you’re not sure where to start, I would love to help.

I would recommend Tracy (and I do often) to anyone. I have been seeing her for a year now and she has helped me in so many ways. I feel great! Skin, immunity, hormones, digestion, mood and confidence are just some of the things that I have seen a big positive change in. She is excellent and very knowledgeable in what she does.
