The gift of circadian rhythms

Homeopathy, London, summer, circadian rhythms, sleep, pineal glandOne thing I love about June is roses in bloom. I have been in Malmö, Sweden this week, and I saw these beautiful yellow roses outside this apartment building. So beautiful.

Malmö is quite a bit further north than London so the days are much longer. The last few evenings I sat with my friend on her balcony, enjoying wine and good food as the sun went down.

Once it was dark, we both found we naturally wanted to turn in for sleep.

Instead of pushing ourselves to stay up later, we just caved in!

My feelings about screens

I was at my hormonal wisdom workshop this week and one of the things I spoke about was screens and stress.

Screens are part of the landscape now, whether we like it or not. And mostly, we like it.

My husband and son went to stay with his father for a couple of nights this week. I received a late night message:

‘Dad’s stopped paying the bill, so there’s no wifi.’

He wasn’t happy but it wasn’t the end of the world; he still had his phone and a 4G connection.

My daughter’s phone battery life is limited so until she can afford a new phone she goes everywhere with an additional battery pack.

I take my phone to the park so I can take photos of my dog walk.

Periods | What’s your problem?

This week I was chatting to a woman who told me she hadn’t had any periods for 3 months. She knew she wasn’t pregnant, so she wasn’t sure what was going on.

I asked if she was having trouble sleeping and she said that she lay awake for a couple of hours every night. She was quite surprised when I explained that the underlying cause of both things was probably stress.

Periods, stress and sleep are more connected than you might think.
