Summer is finally here, with longer days, warmth and sunshine for us to enjoy.

It’s also a naturally busy time, with more opportunity to be outside in the evenings and weekends. Summer is a time for events such as weddings, fairs and festivals.

With all this activity, if you’re not careful, you might end up over-committed.

Stress and overwhelm can start to happen, which isn’t much fun for the people around us either.

You might need to try a bit harder to make time for yourself when it’s summer.

I know that when I take care of myself I feel calm and happy.

If you want to have more to give to your family,  friends and even your work, you might want to make time for some summer self-care.

A checklist to help you make the most of a new month

I don’t enjoy feeling busy, and so I have small habits that help me feel more calm.

One way I do this is to give purpose to each new month with a simple plan.

This serves as a kind of road-map and helps me make time for myself as well as make the most of my time.

I didn’t used to be so organised, I was more of a multi-tasker and I used to be proud that I was quite good at it.

The only thing was that I didn’t always feel in control and at times I would get really overwhelmed and stressed.

Autumn is a time when immunity and health can be vulnerable, so now is a great time to start thinking about how to strengthen yourself in preparation for the colder, darker months.

The best way to build resilience and immunity is through everyday self-care.

Self-care is not being selfish, it is being caring towards yourself.

When I take care of myself I feel stronger and more positive, plus I feel able to give more to my family, my friends and my clients.
