A Snow Day

Snow, Bethnal Green, London, HomeopathyThe snow was the reason I woke up late today. When I opened my eyes I saw that it was almost 9am.

Wilf opened the door,

“Mum, it’s snowing!”

I looked out of the window to see, but I’d already guessed. It was so quiet. It’s always quiet where we are, but it was even quieter today. That’s how I knew there was snow.

There are just two weeks left until it’s Christmas. My aim is always to keep Sundays simple, but it’s always easier said than done. I had a long list of things to do today, but everything was pushed back while we came up with a plan.

Simple things to enjoy

There’s something luxurious about the simple pleasure of a bank holiday weekend.

It’s always lovely to get away somewhere for a short break, but that’s not always possible or practical.

I’m not going anywhere this weekend but I don’t mind.

A long weekend at home can feel like a holiday too.

Having three whole days off is such a treat.

I’m trying not to do too much, but I know that if I don’t make a plan, the time could easily just slip away without me feeling I’ve made the most of it.

3 ways I’m trying to slow down

It’s early Sunday morning, the day after my birthday and everyone else is asleep.

Another year has tip-toed quietly by.

I had a lovely birthday yesterday. I spent time with my family and I was pampered with chocolate, flowers, thoughtful messages and gifts. I also thought about my mum.

Anyway, this morning I’m undeniably a year older.

That’s ok.
